The Lord’s Prayer Tour with the Archbishop of York: Sunday 8th June at 4.30pm - 14/05/25
As part of The Lord’s Prayer Tour across the North of England, the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, will be visiting Lancaster Priory on Sunday 8th June at 4.30pm during a special service of Choral Evensong. There will be refreshments afterwards along with time to view resources and a specially curated Prayer Station in the St Thomas’ Chapel.
“The Lord’s Prayer isn’t just a guide for prayer—it’s an invitation to live differently. It’s a lesson in desire and purpose. God may know what we need, but we don’t always see it ourselves. This prayer has been passed down through generations, and while not everyone may know it fully, most people have encountered it in some way.”
— Stephen Cottrell, Archbishop of York
This event is open to all—whether you are part of a church community or simply curious about faith and prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer Tour is part of a series of exciting events happening across the North of England, organised in partnership with Faith in the North—a movement inspired by the stories of Northern Saints like Hild, Cuthbert, Bede, and Paulinus. Faith in the North is dedicated to supporting church growth, revitalisation, and inspiring people to see themselves as part of this ongoing story of faith.
We hope this special service of Choral Evensong as part of The Lord’s Prayer Tour will ignite a deeper understanding of The Lord’s Prayer and leave you inspired to tell your own story of faith.
