Updates to Holy Week Services - 29/03/21

From the Churchwardens

Dear Friends,

We are delighted to be able to share with you the joyful news that, thanks to a change in  Government regulations, we are now with immediate effect able to welcome back a small group of singers to lead our worship. This means that we can have a small choir  even when there is a congregation present, not just a single cantor. What better time for this to happen with many special services to look forward to! It will greatly enrich our worship.

So there will be a small choir to lead our worship at the Liturgy of the Last Supper, 7.30pm Maundy Thursday and at Festal Eucharist, 10am Easter Day. There will still be a Festal Evensong at 6.30pm Easter Day, but we are now able welcome back a congregation for this service as well. If you would like to attend, please book your place in the usual way.

As already advertised, we are observing Holy Week by holding a service of sung compline at 9pm today (Monday), Tuesday and Wednesday. This was originally planned to be live streamed only but now you will be most welcome if you would like to attend in person. No need to book. Please note – this change does not affect the meditations ‘Holy Week and Isolation’ at 7.30pm. These will continue to be live streamed only.

With our prayers and best wishes for a blessed Holy Week and Easter.

Andrew and Pauline
