Holy Week and Easter Flyer 2024
Tuesdays
10.15am Holy Communion (BCP) followed by fellowship (tea, coffee and sometimes cake!)
On the first Tuesday of each month during this service, we hold a time of remembrance for all those that have lost their lives in conflicts, retired members of Lancashire regiments attend this service to read the names on the open page of our memorial book.
Thursdays
12.30pm Holy Communion with Prayers for Healing (CW)
in St Thomas’ Chapel (right hand aisle, adjacent to the high altar)
This weekly service is one in which we pray for healing and reconciliation.
Our prayers are offered for individuals and communities in need, and we offer the laying on of hands and anointing with holy oil, as outward signs of our prayers and of the work of God in reconciling all things to himself in love.
You may want to come and receive prayer for yourself or equally, for someone you love or are concerned about or you may want to pray for broader concern.
All are welcome to join us in praying for God’s healing work in our world.
First Sunday of the month, Sunday 7th April is our next session
3.30pm Baptism Preparation
The first Sunday of each month, (not August) we hold Baptism Preparation class. Here you can hand in your filled in baptism forms, meet a clergy member and discuss the planned Baptism.
Last Sunday of the month
4.00pm Families@4 on Sunday
The next Families@4 – Stations of the Cross – will be this Sunday
On the fourth Sunday of each month we invite children and their families to worship and learn together. There is something in this service for everyone. It is an informal and relaxed service. The service takes a more child centred approach with much greater involvement by the children from the congregation. Children can read the lessons, prayers and participate in presentations.
Taizé Service 6.30pm
The next Taizé Service date tbc This service is in place of Choral Evensong
‘Taizé Prayer is evening prayer for all Christian faiths. It is a simple, meditative form of worship, calling us to dwell deeply on Christ’s presence around and within us; songs, prayerful silence, and short readings guide the focus of the prayer in a candle-lit environment.’
