What a Welcome for Revd Dr Susan Salt! - 23/04/22

Lancaster Priory welcomed the Revd Dr Susan Salt as Priory curate on Palm Sunday.  Susan joins us to complete her training after several years as curate in the Fellside Ministry Team following a career as a medic in the region.   The next few months will be an opportunity for Susan to gain different experiences in the context of a major church.

Susan joined us at the busiest possible time of the year, and has made a wonderful start in leading worship, preaching and getting to know the Priory and it’s congregations.

During the Pandemic, Susan returned to work in a Hospice in the NHS, and for this significant service, she was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the New Years’ Honour List.

Susan’s first weeks included a ceremony, where Lord Shuttleworth KG KCVO, the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, presented her with the BEM on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen.  The ceremony was held a matter of metres away from the Priory Church in the Shire Hall at Lancaster Castle.

Everyone at Lancaster Priory is thrilled that Susan has joined us and we look forward to working with her in the weeks and months ahead.  We plan to say an official ‘congratulations’ next time Susan is in church!
