This new annual event for Lancaster Music Festival showcases the talents of local young classical musicians. This concert is a drop-in event; stay for as long as you are able. The programme and line-up will be announced in due course.

SONGS FROM HOME

SATURDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2021, ALL DAY EVENT

Join Lancaster Music Festival for a full day of performances from international musicians resident in Lancaster, or visiting to play at this event, who will perform music from or inspired by their homeland. Enjoy a diverse mix of musical styles and instruments from all around the world.

SIQIAN LI

SATURDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2021, TIME TBC

As part of LMF’s Songs From Home programme, Chinese pianist Siqian Li will perform Jianzhong Wang’s Five Yunnan Folk Songs and a selection from Melodies of China by Zhao Zhang, along with pieces by Debussy and Ravel. Siqian won first prize at the Royal College of Music’s top award for pianists in 2020.

RÍOGHNACH CONNOLLY

SATURDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2021, TIME TBC

Concluding LMF’s Songs From Home program is vocalist, flautist and BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year Ríoghnach Connolly, whose work spans Irish traditional, folk, blues, jazz, electronica and more. Ríoghnach and guitarist Ellis Davies will perform music that reflects their Celtic roots.
