A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF SOME OF THE GREAT SONGWRITERS WHO WROTE THE SOUNDTRACK TO A CENTURY.
From Tin Pan Alley to Broadway to Hollywood, people like George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and
Rodgers and Hart wrote songs that fill what is known as The Great American Songbook. That great songwriting tradition was carried into the latter part of the century by people such as Henry Mancini, Burt Bacharach, Lennon and McCartney.
GARY CUNLIFFE (vocals) and IAN GRAY (piano) have worked together for thirty or more years exploring, enjoying and performing these great songs. This evening they are joined by BRENT FORBES (bass) and TONY HARRISON (drums) to bring you a great show that will also tell you something about the writers of these classic songs and the story behind them.
